Give a warm welcome to Angie Wong, our newest fabulous Intern of the Week! After falling in love with London while she was studying, Angie had to come back to London on our Intern in Britain program for her internship at a top events company. We sit down to chat with her about her internship duties and whole traveling experience so far!

What's your educational background?

I achieved a degree in Creative Music Technology at the University of Surrey and also managed to do a Master's degree in Music Management and Artist Development at the University of West London.

How did you hear about BUNAC's Intern in Britain program?

I heard about BUNAC's Intern in Britain program through a recruiter called WorldWide Internships.

How did you find the BUNAC process and service, from signing up, the assistance provided, to the communication throughout your internship?

The BUNAC process has been really simple and easy to follow, it isn't as daunting as it sounds. Whenever I had any questions, it was always answered either a day later or two days later. I was super pleased about how smooth it all went.

What company are you interning for in London?

I'm interning for an event technology company called EventsCase.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities at your placement?

I handle event logistics when it came to exhibitions or conferences i.e. Purchasing booth items, booking flights and accommodation, and basically making sure that all necessary items are ready and available on the day of exhibition. I also plan and organize company corporate events i.e. booking the venue, catering, decoration, inviting attendees. I deal with e-mail marketing campaigns and manage social media platforms too.

What are the highlights of interning at your placement?

One of the many highlights would be getting know my colleagues from all over the world - Spain, different parts of the U.K, Malta and the USA. Also, getting the chance to do my training in Spain for 3 weeks was incredible, and I am so grateful for it.

What were your initial impressions of London?

My initial impression of London was that it was just a very busy city and everyone is constantly on the move!

What were your personal highlights of London?

My personal highlight about London is working in a high-tech & modern co-sharing work office! The building is called RocketSpace and it's honestly an amazing place to work at. There are so many start-ups and small businesses working together in this building and it's so easy to network and make new friends and share ideas.

What advice would you give to someone considering taking part in BUNAC's Intern in Britain program?

Don't hesitate! As long as you've got an open mind and have the willingness to learn and experience new things... go for it! You'll definitely enjoy your time in the U.K. It's a great place to meet new people and to get that work experience that will definitely help you in your future career.

Have you done any traveling in Great Britain or Europe so far?

Yes! I've been to Brighton, Bournemouth, Bath and Guildford. I've also been to Castellon de la Plana and Valencia, and also I'm planning a trip to Barcelona and either Rome or Venice. I can't wait!

If you fancy leaping into a city lifestyle as an Intern in Britain like Angie, we promise it to be one of the best decisions you can make.
