Got bags of enthusiasm, energy and recent experience working with children in a leadership role? Head to camp as a camp counsellor, where you'll live and breathe the authentic summer camp experience living and working with children of ages between 6-16. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day care of a group of campers whilst ensuring they have the best possible time over the summer!

Working as a Camp Counsellor is a 24/7 job! You’ll be responsible for looking after campers from the moment they wake up, throughout the day and until the lights go out in the bunk.

What’s involved?

Camp Counsellors are the backbone of camp. After getting assigned your cabin of kids on arrival you’ll be involved in every part of their day-to-day camp life, from making sure they brush their teeth and make their beds, to the more camp-crazy activities such as getting covered in sequins during and arts and crafts session and shooting some arrows in an archery class.

What are the benefits?

As a Camp Counsellor you’ll get the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of camp life, from singing songs around the camp fire, to water skiing on the lake and having dinner with the kids. You can guarantee your summer will be spent trying activities you’d never considered, making friends from all over the world and building memories that can never be beaten.

On top of this, one of the biggest benefits of being a Camp Counsellor is the bond you’ll create with your cabin of kids. After spending all-day/every-day with your group you’ll be more than a counsellor to them; you’ll be a teacher, a friend, a support system and the person they remember when they think about their incredible summer at camp. What could be better than that?

What experience will you need?

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a gold medalist Gymnast and you don’t need to have played tennis since you were two. All you need to be a Camp Counsellor is some childcare experience in a leadership role, be an all-rounder able to get stuck in with activities, a can-do attitude, a willingness to sing camp songs like they’re going out of fashion and energy, energy, energy!
