Your base

Where will I be living?

As you will be working in several locations in Costa Rica, you will be living in a variety of different accommodation. Accommodation will generally be on a shared basis and facilities will be basic. The places you stay will also become a big part of your trip, experiencing life in a home-stay with a local family and a volunteer house 200m from the beach. The accommodation is generally in remote areas and will be close to the projects you will be working on.

What can I expect to eat?

You will eat locally produced food which will usually be rice or pasta based with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Meat will be either chicken or fish. Menus will be local, although Western tastes will be accommodated wherever possible. Vegetarians and other special dietary requirements are easily accomodated. Snacks can be bought in the local shops.

Who will I be working with?

You will be working with other volunteers aged between 18- 27 years old. The volunteer project can accommodate up to 16 volunteers per team so you'll be sure to make plenty of new friends!
