Welcome to Borneo! You’ll arrive in Kuching, Borneo’s most vibrant city, before setting off to Sarawak for the start of your amazing adventure. In Sarawak you’ll live in jungle villages, working on local community and conservation projects.
Renovation of community buildings and laying of water pipes
Teach English to adults and children
Help Build the communities vegetable garden
See the famous orangu-tans and other amazing wildlife!
After your first week, it’s time to visit the breath-taking Gungung Mulu National Park. Here You’ll trek through huge caves and witness million of bats taking flight at dusk. Take the scenic routes through tree top canopies and embrace the beauty of your natural surroundings.
It’s time to make the journey north into the state of Sabah where the remainder of your adventure will be. Your home for the next 2 weeks is at a plantation village in the Tawau National Park.
Work with teachers and NGO’s to:
Help improve the schools infrastructure
Help cook the school meal
Look after the pre-school kids with games, sports and teach basic English and art.
After your 2 week project reaches its end, you’ll get to enjoy 3 days in the world famous orangu-tan centre, giving you plenty of rest and relaxation and the chance to spend some quality time with these amazing animals.
Set up camp in the Lupa Masa jungle at the foot of Borneo’s famous Mount Kinabalu. Explore the hot springs on offer for 2 nights whilst brushing up on your survival skills prior to your 5 –day jungle trek! With Borneo buzzing with wildlife you’ll be in with a great chance of seeing plenty of animals, so get your camera ready!
Your new home for the next week is Kudat, the new ‘must see’ place in Sabah. With miles of beaches to explore, this is the perfect location to help a small community with their beach clean-up project, making local handicrafts followed by sun downers on the hilltops in the evening. It’s not all work and no play though, experience what the town has to offer and enjoy the coastal lifestyle snorkelling in the perfect waters.
Week 7 and this trip really goes up a gear, as if Borneo wasn’t cool enough, this crazy adventure is now taking you to the Philippines! Two short flights and a car ride later you find yourself in the small town of Bulusan. Home to luscious green rainforest, crystal blue crater lakes, gushing waterfalls and hot natural springs this island is paradise…oh and let’s not forget Bulusan Volcano erupting from the heart of this picture perfect place!
During your time in the Philippines, you’ll get a real rural experience staying with local families and getting stuck into some special projects during your stay! With the region being supported by various governing bodies, you can become a part of it’s growing history by chipping in with reforestation projects, repairing native huts and developing community roads.
Challenge accepted! Put those walking boots on and climb the beast itself! You’ll find yourself meandering through the overgrown foot-hills and under the rainforest canopies before scrambling across the lunar summit. Discover your real adventure side!
With the Philippines being home to over 7000 islands, Ticao leaves you in the perfect position for a spot of island hopping on your free days! Being based in the Masbate province of Ticao and taking escapism to a whole new level, your new island home will be scattered with white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters.
As an area though, this dream castaway island receives less attention and outside support meaning your help will be hugely appreciated. With local NGO’s running various community projects continuously and children and adults in need of English lessons, you’ll have plenty to get involved in!
An awesome adventure deserves an awesome end, heading back to Legazpi Island and setting up base in a hotel, it’s time for some fun excursions! Tour the streets of the local area and visit all it’s famous landmarks, zip-wire down Lignon Hill and warm up ready for the grand finale…
On your final day you’ll find yourself taking the ultimate adventure rush down gullies, through rivers and fallen rock on a quad bike! With you designated route being carved by volcanic eruptions your final rendezvous will be a great lava wall standing hundreds of meters high, the perfect way to end your amazing adventure.
