What is Volunteer with Novice Buddhist Monks in Laos?

Based in the ancient capital of Laos, Luong Prabang you will fully immerse yourself in Laotian culture teaching English to novice Buddhist monks as well as providing lessons to local lay students. You will positively impact the lives of disadvantaged youth who may not otherwise have access to an education, and in your free time you can explore this beautiful diverse county. Depending on the time of year, you will work with a wide variety of students, both children and young adults, teaching both practical and conversational English across different levels. During the school terms, volunteers may contribute to various children and young adult classes at several educational institutions in Luang Prabang. During the summer months, from approximately June- late August volunteers may also have the opportunity to contribute to various children's summer English programs.

Do good, better We work tirelessly to ensure our volunteer projects are ethically managed including several which are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - so you can be sure your trip has a positive impact on you, and the community you're there to help. The aim of this project is for volunteers to contribute to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education, which also helps to increase future academic and employment opportunities for students, furthering the Decent Work and Economic Growth goal.
