During your placement you’ll generally have weekends free to relax and enjoy the local area. The base in Costa Rica is quite remote therefore volunteers tend to stay around base during the weekends. Every month you will have a long weekend to explore some of Costa Rica’s highlights including zip lining, trips to the cloud forest and lots more.
No, you won’t need Spanish to take part in the programme. During your internship you will spend 2 weeks in Nicaragua, which includes Spanish lessons - so you can learn the local lingo!
Your unpaid work placement will either be with our local partners helping manage the local projects in Costa Rica, alternatively you could be placed in rainforest lodges conducting wildlife and habitat conservation.
