BUNACer Victoria checks in with us to update us on what she's been up to since arriving in Vancouver on our Work Canada programme after one of our Group Flights. She's not been there long but has managed to make lots of friends and see a lot of Canada. We can't wait for her next update!
So after months of waiting I’ve finally made it to Canada, and it was definitely worth the wait and it hasn’t even been a month yet!
So first things first the group flight. I arrived at Heathrow and managed to recognise a few faces from Facebook. We all managed to get checked in and on to the flight with no issues and after 9 hours of film watching and sleeping we arrived in Vancouver. After a bit of taxi wrangling we got to the hostel and despite the jet lag all of us managed to stay up for a drink. Funny that!
The first full day in Vancouver was filled with the necessities of setting bank accounts and Insurance Numbers. A few of the group headed up the next day to Whistler whilst a few of us remained in the city to see more of what Vancouver had to offer.
In the 6 days we had in Vancouver, we managed to visit Capilano suspension bridge, Stanley Park, Gastown, Davie street and explore the shopping on Robson street. Some of the group even managed to pick up skis and all the associated gear for an amazing price.
We then headed up to Whistler on the Greyhound to begin work! The day we arrived there was no snow at all but 3 days later it’s a completely different story! In my first few days I have met tons of new people from all over the world, I have witnessed Aussies experiencing snow for the first time in their lives and am beginning to life in Canada.
Me and my new are friends all start work in the next couple of weeks. Yet another first to look forward to.
