Eligibility & costs - Before applying it is important
to consider costs and to double check that you qualify for the programme.
- You must be a US citizen aged between 18 and 35
- A current full-time student at an accredited US university or college.
You must also be able to communicate effectively in French and be able to take with
you at least 1500 Euros in support funds. Participants can work
in France for up to three months anytime during May to September.
Program Costs
The fee for Work in France is $760 plus insurance (currently
$189 for three months’ coverage). The fee covers administration in the US and France,
courier fees, the program handbook, Lonely Planet guidebook, two nights’ youth hostel
accommodation and orientation on arrival, assistance with obtaining work permit,
mail holding, and ongoing help and support for the duration of the program.
It may be sometime after arrival before you receive your first paycheck so you are
required to take a minimum of 1500 Euros (about $2265) with you to France.
