Work in Britain
Britain is a great destination for young travelers, offering grand castles,
traditional pubs, great shopping, beautiful scenery, museums and stately homes,
outrageous fashions and trendsetting music and theater. To really get to know Britain from the inside, nothing beats living and working there for an extended period of time.
Britain may be small in size but nevertheless offers a wide variety of places in which to live and work. Possibilities include the metropolitan area of London, one of the northern English cities such as Manchester, historic York, or Edinburgh in Scotland, picturesque rural Britain, or in a seaside resort. As a participant on
Work in Britain, you are able to work anywhere in Britain - England, Scotland,
Wales and Northern Ireland.
How the program works
The Student Exchange Employment Program Blue Card provided to Work in Britain
participants acts as an entry visa and allows US university students and recent graduates to work in Britain for up to six months. The program is approved by the British Government and is a reciprocal work/travel exchange program. The Blue Card is available to eligible US citizens or permanent residents, aged 18 and upwards.
Work in Britain is sponsored by BUNAC and the Blue Card is issued from the BUNAC office in Connecticut. In association with IENA, International Exchange of North America, BUNAC operates several reciprocal work/travel programs between Britain and North America.
