Upon arriving in sunny Australia you’ll be transferred to ‘Sydney’s best hostel,’ Wake Up, where you’ll spend your first day getting to know the rest of the group, relaxing, exploring Sydney or even heading out on the town. Whatever you decide to do, it’s time to get ready for the action-packed week ahead.
Begin your first full day of exploring Australia! Enjoy a welcome lunch at Sydney Tower Restaurant and spend the day visiting some of the most famous landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay. Finish the day off with a guided walk along The Rocks.
Head to your orientation where you’ll get all the work essentials sorted like applying for a Tax File Number, a Medicare card, sorting out your bank account and finding out all about the job finding process. It will then be time for an afternoon of madness. You’ll kick-start the fun with an hour long paddle boarding lesson on Sydney Harbour. Later on it’s time for some ice-breaker drinks and snacks, after which you’ll be free to party the evening away.
Day Four will be a day you’ll never forget. You’ll be whisked off on a day trip to the Blue Mountains - an incredible piece of Australian nature and a recognized world heritage area. This will be the perfect opportunity for you to get out of the city for a day and make use of the selfie-stick. The trip even includes lunch, so all you’ll have to worry about is enjoying yourself.
It’s now time to discover Sydney’s hidden gems, local attractions and most popular sites on a guided group walking tour. After working up a thirst you’ll be invited out on the town for a pub crawl around Sydney, where you’ll have the opportunity to let your hair down and meet loads of other travellers.
Day Six is about ticking all those Australian animals off your to-see bucket list. Kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, tasmanian devils, wallabies, wombats… if it’s native to Australia, you’ll see it while visiting Sydney’s Wildlife World. This day trip will immerse you in everything Australian and have you saying ‘g’day mate’ by the end of the day.
It’s the last day of orientation and time to either check out or extend your stay at the hostel. Day Seven is all about finishing the week off on a high, having a laugh and saying your goodbyes (or not, if you’ve planned to continue your journey with the rest of the group). Spend the day enjoying a barbie on Bondi Beach and - if you’re feeling active - doing the unmissable Bondi to Coogee walk.
