How it works

Love babysitting, caring for young siblings and shaping young minds? Au Pair New Zealand gives you the chance to utilize your skills and experience of working with children, in an exciting new environment.

Your previous experience

You will need to have a minimum 200 hours of documented childcare experience. This can include any previous employment at schools and summer camps, as well as work as a nanny, babysitting and other childcare experiences.

What program is right for you?

Au Pair 123 - Our core Early Childhood Education (ECE) program, approved by the New Zealand Ministry of Education, for families with at least 1 child under 5.
Au Pair Whiz - Our professional, qualified Early Childhood Education program. An Au Pair Whiz has an Early Childhood Education degree or diploma with a minimum of 6 months practical experience or has 1 year of full time experience caring for children under 5 years of age.
Au Pair Mate - Our flexible after school care program tailored for families with children over the age of 5.

The best fit for you

Based on your application, your profile will be presented to host families that we feel suit your requirements and skill-set. You will also be able to contact families who are suitable to you.
You can email, Skype and speak with each host family during the matching process to help ensure that you find the family most suitable to you.
The most important thing is that you relate well to your host family, and can enjoy a good relationship before, during and after your stay.
