Finding a job
On Work in Ireland, whether you choose to work in the vibrant city of Dublin, or opt for the slightly slower pace of somewhere like Cork or Galway with its stunning coastline, every day you will be learning about another country and its people first-hand.
Past participants have typically worked in restaurants, cafes, bars, banks, hotels, offices and libraries. Determined career-minded students have found positions as architects, stage assistants and computer programmers!
Participants need to be motivated and flexible self-starters with a willingness to be truly independent. It is also often harder to find work during July and early August. Summer participants are advised to try to arrive in Ireland in May and early June to beat the job rush.
USIT recommends that participants do not plan to start the program during December and January. During these months it is more difficult to find work.
