Why do a working holiday in Canada?

Canada has become a go-to destination for working holidaymakers who want year-round adventures, liveable cities and decent salaries. Aside from the fact that the national dish is fries covered in cheese and gravy (enough said), Canada offers the perfect work-life balance. Virtual: You can video interview for Pan Pacific Whistler on 24 May, Blue Mountain 13 + 18 Jun, Fairmont 17 + 19 Jun, and Sunshine Village 19 + 20 Jun - with Big White also now hiring on our Job Hub. When to apply

Seriously in demand and with limited visas available, timing is everything with Canada working holiday visas (IEC visa). When you apply, your name goes into a pool, and if you’re successful, you’ll be invited to officially apply for your IEC visa. The earlier you apply, the more chance you have of your name being drawn. The 2024 IEC Canada pools are open, so book Work Canada now and we’ll guide you through the pool and Canada working holiday visa application with step-by-step guidance, webinars and Canada Clinics.

Who can apply

New rules for UK passport holders! The working holiday visa Canada eligibility has increased from 18-30 to 18-35 - giving you an extra five years to apply for your two-year Canada working holiday visa. Plus, if you previously had an IEC visa since 2015, you can now enter the pools for a second 12-month visa, or a second 24-month visa if you applied before 2015. If you’re from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Germany or Ireland and are aged 18-35, you can also apply for a working holiday Canada visa that allows you to work in Canada for 12-24 months (nationality dependent). When to go

One of the best things about Canada is that it’s a year-round destination with reliable seasons. Once winter’s over, ski resorts turn into summer playgrounds ready for downhill mountain biking and hiking. That means the seasonal job opportunities are endless. If you want a more urban scene with career-focused work, big cities like Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton are cool and cultural, and perfectly placed for weekend adventures to the slopes and national parks.

90% of our Essential and Ultimate customers are solo travellers. You’ll have access to our offices in Toronto and Vancouver where our teams run regular social events to help you settle in and meet other travellers. And on the Ultimate Canada, you’ll have a pre-arranged ski or summer resort job with other BUNACers so you’ll live and work with a ready-made group of mates.
