Get close to 1750 plant species, 9 of which you can only find in the unique flora and fauna of the Grand Canyon National Park.
You will be working 8 hours per day with the weekend free to use for excursions and trips with your fellow volunteers. The work days finish early enough to be able to enjoy your evenings and at the weekends you will have free time to explore Grand Canyon and the surrounding area. The work can be physically demanding, days are relatively long and volunteers should be prepared for extreme weather conditions, but the camaraderie and sense of achievement is immeasurable, and the location provides a truly memorable experience!
This project is ideal, if you are on a longer trip through the US and want to do something different with a purpose where you gain hands-on National Park experience and make friends for life. If 11 days is too short for you, you can combine several projects and get a great discount!
You will be picked up from Phoenix airport at 10am on the project starting date and you will be transferred back to the airport for around 2pm on the last Friday of the project, so nothing to worry about but booking your flight to Phoenix.
Throughout your project you will be staying right in the National Park inmidst beautiful scenery and if its warm you could even get to camp underneath the stars! Upon arrival you will be provided with a tent for your personal use for the duration of your stay in Grand Canyon National Park. You will pitch your tent in your designated camp site and you will be responsible for it until you leave the programme.
