Included in the programme are some fantastic excursions that are co-ordinated every few weeks by our South African partners and which offer the chance to add on some exciting activities at a reasonable additional cost. Which activities are included in your trip depends on how many weeks you are going to South Africa for.
As part of the orientation volunteers visit the Red Location Museum located in the New Brighton Township in Port Elizabeth. It is an Apartheid museum which has also won a number of prestigious architectural awards because of it's innovative design.
Surfing and dune boarding are the order of the day at Jefferys Bay, which is one of South Africa’s top spots for sun, sea and sand.
Volunteers are provided with transport to and from the world’s highest bungee jump, and adrenaline junkies among the group are free to give it a go (for £60-£70). For those who are happy to give it a miss, there’s also a zip line to try and an idyllic waterfall nearby, which is the perfect place to enjoy a lazy afternoon.
Volunteers have the chance to get up close and personal with White Rhino, Buffalo, Cheetah, Giraffe and Zebra!
Dining out the most magical setting you can imagine. Right out in the heart of the African Bush, volunteers enjoy a meal under the stars together!
January, April and August departures: Kragga Kama game reserve and Jeffrey's Bay
