Preserve traditional building methods by helping local people collect and use sustainable materials from the jungle rather than concrete and corrugated iron sheeting
Help show the Tsachila that sustainable cacao production is far better for business and the environment than clearing the land for palm oil.
This island needs no introduction; set 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador and home to a vast variety of rare species, you are bound to have some memorable encounters! Flying into Santa Cristobal, Galapagos’ most eastern island, you begin your conservation project called Hacienda Tranquila where you’ll take a hands on role in restoring the surrounding environment.
Maintaining irrigation systems
Leading horse riding sessions and teach educational classes to children
Aid in the development of eco friendly, high yielding farming methods for the farmers in the area
Bring new vegetation to the area, ready for the introduction of the Giant Tortoise to Hacienda Tranquila.
