Application

Once you have the internship organised the application, process is relatively straightforward, BUNAC staff have a great deal of experience in helping people in these areas and will be happy to give advice and answer any questions you may have.

We cannot tell you over the phone if you will be accepted. Once we have received your complete application we will assess your eligibility and internship.

Step 1. Programme application

You need to send the following to BUNAC

  • Your completed original Application Form
  • A Training Plan. Your employer must complete this form. The completed form can be sent directly to the BUNAC office in London or can be sent to you and you can include the original with your application
  • Proof of current or recent student status, if applicable
  • Copy of your passport information page
  • A copy of your most recent bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds - $1500 (£1000) minimum
  • Your CV
  • Programme fee deposit of £200

If you have any queries about the programme, please call BUNAC on 0207 251 3362 or send an email to internships@bunac.org.uk BUNAC will assess your application. Once approved, we will obtain your DS-2019 from the programme sponsor, which will enable you to apply for your US visa.

We recommend that you do not book any non-refundable flights to the US until your visa has been issued.

Step 2. Applying for your US Visa

Once you have been accepted onto the programme, your next step will be to apply for your US visa. BUNAC will give you information on how to book your visa appointment and complete the appropriate visa forms. You will need to go to the US Embassy in London or Belfast to submit your visa application in person and pay a visa fee to them of $140. BUNAC will send you full instructions on how to do this.

Visas are issued at the discretion of the US Government and BUNAC is not responsible for any delayed applications or visa refusals.
