BUNAC Responsible Travel Policy
Since 1962 BUNAC has operated, within a not-for-profit framework, overseas work and volunteer programmes which have been developed primarily to promote cultural diversity and understanding. BUNAC recognises that as an organisation it has an obligation to operate in a responsible manner and to promote the ideals of responsible travel to BUNAC participants.
It is fundamental to BUNAC that these programmes actively improve and benefit the local environment and communities in which they operate.
BUNAC’s working operations and procedures include a commitment to minimise impact upon the natural environment through policies that include recycling and energy efficiency schemes.
In April 2007, BUNAC was awarded the highest award in recognition of its commitment to waste minimisation, recycling and local community enhancement as part of Islington Council's Tidy Business Standard scheme.
