GOING ‘STATESIDE’ MAKES FINANCIAL SENSE TO STUDENTS
Students short of money looking for a rewarding way to spend the summer without breaking the bank still have time to sign up to Work America, BUNAC’s self-financing work/travel programme to the US – however, application deadlines are looming so candidates should register now. Only available to students, Work America is a unique and affordable opportunity to experience what it is really like to live and work in the USA. Applicants have complete flexibility to take any sort of paid work, casual or career-related, anywhere in the US, with most choosing to work in a tourism or hospitality role in an East Coast summer resort. Before they head home, participants can take their pick from the amazing range of travel opportunities available stateside: visit the big cities like New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, go touring or simply chill out on the beach.
Students have until 25th May to apply to this year’s Work America programme. The quickest way to apply is online at: www.bunac.org. The programme fee of £125 is payable on application and covers full programme administration and literature, including BUNAC’s Job Directory listing hundreds of summer jobs from employers all over the US. Support, advice and information from BUNAC’s London and New York offices are also included. Applicants can book their own flights or travel on a competitively-priced BUNAC group flight. Insurance and J-1 visa fees are extra costs.
BUNAC also offers year-round work abroad opportunities in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa as well as volunteering projects in Africa, Central and South America and Asia.
