How to renew your BUNAC insurance

If your travel insurance is about to expire, it is simple to arrange for a new policy. However, the new policy must be issued before your existing insurance expires. There cannot be any break between the two policies.

Insurance extensions are made directly with BUNAC in London:

1. Call our office on (+44 20 7251 3472) and discuss your requirements with one of our staff. We can take payment by credit, debit or switch card/maestro and the whole process normally takes just a couple of minutes. If it is more convenient, you can arrange for someone to make the payment on your behalf.

An insurance summary (including premiums) can be found here. The cost of the extension is calculated as a new policy.

You can also enquire about prices and levels of cover by e-mail (please give as much information as you can – ie: the length of cover you require and the level, if known):

Canada@bunac.org.uk – Work Canada Department

Downunder@bunac.org.uk – Work Australia and Work New Zealand Department

Volunteer@bunac.org.uk – Volunteer Programmes Department.

IMPORTANT

Please check your insurance now and note the date of expiry. We can only issue a new policy if the current one is still valid. If your policy has expired and you need cover, please contact BUNAC immediately.

Change in circumstances

If you have already made a medical claim, the level of cover for the new insurance may be affected. For example if you break your arm within the period of the first policy, and then extend the policy for a further period, you will not be covered for anything relating to the broken arm as it will be deemed a “pre-existing condition”
