Jobs and accommodation
You decide what sort of job you want to do and where you want to work in Canada. Most participants take casual vacation jobs in the tourism or hospitality industries or work in one of Canada’s popular ski resorts. Typical jobs include:
- Shop assistant
- Ski lift operator
- Office supervisor
- Ski resort rep
- Hotel receptionist
- Room attendant
- Waiting on tables
You are not restricted to this type of work however. The Work Authorisation is flexible and allows you to look for other types of work. For child or health care related work, you will need to have a Canadian Government approved medical.
You can work anywhere in Canada during your stay however most participants work in:
- Toronto

British Columbia including Vancouver, Whistler and Victoria

Alberta covering summer and winter resorts in the Canadian Rockies.

Other ways of finding work in Canada include using personal contacts, searching on the internet or writing to UK companies with branches in Canada.
Many hospitality and resort employers offer accommodation as part of their package.
You can however choose to make alternative arrangements.
