Loving the New Zealand ski season

I did Work New Zealand and lived in Queenstown for 6 months during the winter season. I worked in a shop in the town to fund the fun and Mikey (my travel buddy)and I rented a small apartment with an impressive lake view!

I skied every weekend without fail at either Coronet Peak or the Remarkables. Once we skied all day at Cadrona (the Wanaka Ski field), then when it started to get dark, we drove on over to Coronet peak for some AWESOME night skiing. We must have skied for 10-12 hours in 1 day.

I met some amazing people on my trip and had the greatest time! I returned to New Zealand on BUNAC’s IEP Work Exchange Visa a few years later and now live here permanently.

I live in Dunedin but still try and ski as much as possible during the winter. I had never really considered skiing in New Zealand before I went, but it’s definitely worth a go!

Being able to work and live here means that you get an even better experience than just a holiday and you can sample all the great resorts New Zealand has to offer.
